Yep, that's the one I am interested in, thanks for putting that up.
Surely there must be a few out there in WA? It doesn't have to be standard just in reasonable condition (hopefully).

I think they were imported into Australia, although if anyone knows for sure they can correct me, and I certainly know that there are a number of GS750's around and I see them from time to time over East. Shame I don't want one.
I also had a GS550E in 1981, although mine was a second hand 1978 model. Like you it was a step up from my 250 of the time (GSX250, although I did nearly buy a CB250N) and at the time it seemed like it had lots of power. The specs says it had 49bhp, which by today's standards is very limited. I had lots of fun, crashes and even got myself chased by the police on that bike, ah happy memories (although the fine was astronomical!).
Thanks for letting me know about the GS550 Katana on Gumtree, but am still hoping to get a GS550E.

Ha! brings back memories.
Bought a brand new one back in 1981, really wanted a, new to the market Kawasaki GPz550, but the Suzuki was a better price & looked real nice in black with blue graphics.
Was a dream to ride after 18 months on a Honda CB250N, so smooth with so much power!!
Yes, I'd also like to have one, nostalgia & I'd like to see how it matches up to more modern stuff.
I have never seen this particular model in Australia or the bigger GS750 for that matter, but I have seen someone selling a later Katana GS550 model on Gumtree recently

1978 to 1981 Suzuki GS550E
I am looking to buy a 1978 to 1981 Suzuki GS550E in fair to good condition or better
The GS550E model I am looking for is the one with the mag wheels and twin front discs
If you have one or know someone who has one please PM me.
Price is obviously dependent on condition, but i am happy to pay a fair price.
