  • Automatic log out from system - too quick

Wondering if there is any way of altering the time that the forum boots you out when you are inactive?

What is the current setting for when it does the auto log out?? 5mins, 10mins....less??

I don't get a chance to log in that often and when I do it's usually at work where there are interruptions etc. and by the time I come back it's all vanished which is frustrating when you have completed a long PM or are half way through a reply on a post.

Just wanted to know if it can be changed or if I'm just going to have to do my replies PMs in WORD and copy/paste each time.

It never seemed to be so quick in last version. Can someone please advise.

    Cheers guys!!

Have you reset your password to something new?

    Do you tick Remember Me?

No haven't changed password since I joined - only thing that altered was the login name when new system started.

Didn't tick remember me as didn't want others to be able to access it on my PC without me here. Esp. with my Kitchen access and prying eyes

Guess time must fly with the constant interruptions I get here. Will have to start using cut/paste option I fear

Would ticking "remember me" allow it to return to where I was at Ty?

Sure would, but due to a bug i would advise reseting your password.

Can it be changed to longer than 15 mins? By the time I get thru all my tabs it's expired me.

You could always just click 'remember me' and then manually log out when you're done...

Me too. I changed it after reading another post in Forum Help etc to see if it would fix it. Worked on the day that I changed it..I didn't get logged out. Now I still do. Bugger, bugger, bugger...but, life goes on!

I get distracted for 5 mins and I get booted.

                      15 mins would be OK!

Any reason for the auto log out?

I've been on the MV site all day and stay logged in with lunch breaks etc!

Has it been this way since the forum changeover? Change your password, and then log in with the remember me box ticked

well change it to the SAME one not that i would recommend this as a security best practice or anything but its better than writing down the new one for everyone to see.

Or change it to a variation of the same one.... IE if it was "password" then change it to "[email protected]" or something, as its a stronger password than just all letters anyway.
                              If you can... you MUST!
