So my bike finally got here on Friday, covered in dirt, dust and scratches, wasn't a happy man at all. I still haven't got any decent pics of the damage but the guy that dropped it off had never thrown a leg ove a bike before, hile the tip tray was coming down, he held the clutch in :shock: until I reminded him that the brake is on the other side :roll: fuck, I was not happy about this at all!!!
But an hour later I was on the bike.
The roads here are fucked!! It's not smooth road, it's all made up of huge blocks so your going over bumps and shit every 15 meters. The traffic here takes it real bad! Every cager is trying to take you out or they're just really bad drivers! It took me 45 minutes in Friday arvo traffic to get from Watson to the Cross before getting on the freeway here. Now to give you an idea of that kinda distance, I'm talking Northbridge to Cottesloe, now thats just bullshit!
Friday night was an easy one, I hadn't seen Dad in over a year so we caugh up on everything over 4 bottles of wine........just taking it easy before my bro's 18th the next day! :shock:
So it was into the BBQ first thing Friday night, garlic steaks mmmmm love it!
How's this, the ol' man even told me to leave the bike in the living room!!! What a top bloke! And this is a guy who hates me riding and has never riden in his life ever!!
I bet I can change all of that!
Saturday morning, hit the roads around the southern areas, man, you want speed cameras???? Fuck me!!! It's just about every 10 kilometers, you'll pass a fixed camera BUT just before the fixed speed camera is a sign saying "Speed Camera ahead" BUT # 2 the sign is so bloody small, you can miss them in a blink of an eye!! If the speed camera doesn't get you, the copper not far away will. There's heaps of them on the roads, all with radars to!!
Now this isn't a place where you can just throw the front wheel up at anytime, man it's a lotta work. The traffic is pathetic!!! Cars pulling out everywhere so it's not really worth the risk, all the drivers here see you coming but all assume that you'll be the one that slows down or stops for them, even if they're at the stop sign!!!! BASTARDS :evil:
Sunday was a little more relaxed, spent a few hours on the road but it's been so windy and cold here, it made it a little uncomfortable. Had dinner at the Hogs Breath Cafe in Bondi and well the Northbridge HB shits all over this one!!! At least the steak was ok though.
So I've figured out that there's no where that you can just go for a fun short blast, no where at all, there's no runs round here like the river run, Scarbs to Cott or Northbridge, nothing like them at all......
Going to go exploring next weekend, so I'l lleave it for now till the Eastern States report #2.
