***HELP*** Advice needed - 2007 CBR1000RR Repsol Replica

Hi All

I need your help.

Ive been looking at a 2007 CBR1000RR Repsol Replica today at a bike shop south of the metro area.

I'm keen on buying it, and have actually signed an agreement to purchase, but subject to a few conditions.

When I got home, I did a google search of pictures to show the wife. On some of the pictures, I noticed there were sponsors stickers on the bellypan. On others, there weren't.

Then I had this horrible thought. What if the bike Ive made an offer to purchase is not a genuine Repsol Replica, but merely a chinese fairing copy.

Does anyone know if there's anything on the bike which makes it a genuine replica model? Im thinking something like a plate with the bike number in a series i.e 123 / 500

End of day it's your money so you should get what your happy with but i think second hand products should be Judged on there own merits. If your happy with the price and condition the go for it..

when the 07 came out it came with a cert and a plaque to say it is a genuine one, i got one with mine when i owned one.

Are you talking about the one at kim britton? i seen it last week and the fairings looked genuine to me.

they dont put it on the bike, you can fit it if you like but most dont, ask the seller for the plaque and cert from who sold it to them.
other than that ask honda with the chassis number

From memory, it`s on the tripple clamp...

I'll have to see the store owner about the plaque and cert or follow up with Honda Aust ... cos the plaque is definitely NOT on the triple clamp

hmm hard to tell from that angle.
looks like a very stock repsol rep.

Looks genuine. Didn't the regular models have black frames? I know on the new model only the repsol one has a silver frame and swinger.
