can i put my tail light under my plate if i have the white light shining up?

i am bobbing a xj750 and want to put the plate above the tail light its symetrical so if i mount it upside down the plate will still be light up does anyone know if this is legal?

Pretty sure the law states that no white light should be visible from the rear of the vehicle, (However I can think of a couple of cars (Like the VW beetle that the white globe is visible as soon as you step to the side) So should be ok if you can shield it or angle it towards the front of the vehicle? A picture may help.

Pretty much as long as the number plate is lit up and there's no white light shining backwards, it'd be all cool.
The old EF/EL falcons had the number plate lit up from the bottom, so I can't see any problems with it being done on a bike

Its not an issue. Heaps of cruisers are set up like this
