L Plates on big bikes

Does anyone know what the rules are when it comes to test riding bikes >250cc when you are only on a 250 license?
Had my 250 license for awhile and looking to upgrade but not sure what the rules are.

Yes you will need to display L plates, this would be a requirement as well for insurance purposes. Take a set with you, tape them to your jacket, easy peasy

Both dealers I went to mate had a l plate they just taped to back of bike and followed me around. Test rode a few bikes at the dealers then went and purchased one private.

There is a lot of queries over this but it isn't hard to understand.
If you have your R-E license, it means if you ride something >250, you are a learner. Thus having to wear L plates.
