  • Hardened centre tread?

Went for a ride today got the tyres nice and hot went through some twisty bits and got the side of my front tire balled up a little, then for good measure decided to do some quick stops only to find i had a lot less grip than before (i.e slipping front end under braking) i had a quick look at the tyre and it looked more like it was slipping rather than "tearing" the tyre like it does on the sides.

Could the continual heating and cooling on the center of the tread (more recently with a pillion on long straight roads) caused it to harden?

its a pirelli sport demon btw

Did it look a bit blue or shiny/oily. You may have overheated the tyre and caused it to go greasy.
