• New Toy Test Run

Happily Bought after 18months of research a Cannon Powershot S2 IS.

Now I know its not a digi SLR, but that wasnt what I needed in a digi camera.

First Impressions, very happy with it, Maybe not as happy as this man, but very satisfied none the less.

    Some samples:

(please note, I dont need any tips on how to use the camera, it was 2hrs old at the time and I had barely speed read the manual on the train on the way home)

My fav shot from last nights excursion:

This is a study in dirtbikers hands trying to stop wind blowing the camera and tripod over (I think the effect looks cool):

The same tree, hands not on the camera :

    Perf:

    Fraser Ave Again:

Im looking forward to bringing you some more photos (hopefully with Motorbikes in them!!!) once I have slowly read the manual 4 more times

Will try and organise some bike photo shoots upon my return, still scouting for unique locations atm that might requiring carrying some porta lights

          Dingo

What Matt said. The shot of Perth is particularly noisy.

I'll volunteer my bike for a few shots if you like. It's purdy.

            Sorry bout the time delay.

Yes, noise at night on the s2 at high ISO long exposure is its only weak point. That perth one had the ISO set at 400 and I hadnt seen the noise that badly until I looked on the work LCD, might need to rebalance my home monitor.

And the wind was too gusty for a low ISO longer exposure .

Most of my shots wont be Low Light High Iso.

too much wind eh, try another time with low ISO settings, you should be able to get something comparable to this :
