  • M.A.D Ride 2006...!

Righto!, Dont get too excited just yet, the 2006 Making A Difference Ride is still 8 or 9 months away!
I'm just reminding everybody that this year is on! It will be bigger and better than last year and I for one can't wait to get the ball rolling! However, for the moment, before we form committees and start making decisions I would just like to start a thread about it and hear everyones ideas and thoughts on this years (and last years!) event.
Call it an open brainstorming session.
If you would like to be involved in helping to stage this event, by all means say so in here or ping me a PM and we'll go from there.
We really did Make A Difference last year and it was probably the most rewarding thing I, for one, have ever done.
So, lets get the Track day out of the way and then start organising what may just be Perths Premier Motorcycle event! (We hope!)
    Thanks everyone.
Your Thoughts and Ideas are appreciated.

For last year's one, I had no idea that we had to register and pay and get a sticker. I noticed at the end of the ride in Scabs that there were some people collecting money, so we went and did it then. They were like "didn't you pay before the ride?" but we just didn't know! There was no obvious signage and noone came round telling us!
I'll know for this time, but as you said, its a suggestion. More signage.

And i'll remember to bring a jar lid too for the soft grass. Bring on MAD '06!!

god idea...it just depends on what the council say in regards to the local retailers....ie maybe taking business from them

Probably get more of the official business (speeches etc...) done alittle bit earlier. Noticed people didnt want to wait around for 3-4 hours waiting for raffles etc.

Hopefully the council will allow a drink sale. Food stall. People didnt want to walk up to Peters for a drink!

Might have to extend the parking area at shents or where ever the starting point is with a better exit point.

Just a few obvious ones Rooster sure others will be able to offer more assistance.

Coffee in the morning was awsome hope that is available this year!

What about having some one to take pictures of your bike with a a hot girl sitting on it or something? I would pay $30 buks for that easy multiply that with all the riders who want a good pic of there bike taken with a hot chick on it!

Not sure how it could be done but i know psb has a couple of good photographers!

I didnt make it past the start due to prior engagements, but a bikini wash?

And on-line payments are a good idea if possible.

I work for BankWest so if you need a hand with that stuff I'm happy to help.

We were not allowed last year beacuase as Dubs said it took business from the local shop owners and we had to respect them for allowing us to use most of the bottom carpark.
Plaka did give us a good deal on food and drinks and they were excited to be a part of our day.

i got a little yellow and orange piece of placcy that i still have in my boot from last years MAD....... that one thing that really impressed me

maybe make the ride a little longer,(get more noticed) and maybe leave a little earlier.(easier for the plod to direct traffic)
get everyone to leave in there respective lines that they parked in to get us all out of the park quicker
have some music playing at the starting park,,, maybe a string quartet
