What do you do when you see another bike coming the other way?

I go for the nod but find that it is only reciprocated about 50% of the time. The reason I'm asking is that in Brissy (where I used to live before moving here) it is pretty rare that you don't get an acknowledgement from anyone else on two wheels.

Whats the go here in Perth??

If possible, I try to wave..... Sometimes the nod is easy to miss, especially if the other rider isn't looking directly at you at the time. If I don't get a response then no biggie - I'll continue to acknowledge other riders. It may be that they didn't see me, or possibly they were more interested in watching where they were going (fine by me). I do notice the wave return ratio usually drops in summer though.... My list of serial non-wavers/nodders:

1. Harley riders - too busy hanging on :-)
2. BMW riders - what's up with them?
3. Squids riding the latest and greatest in shorts and singlets.

I go the nod.... i find most of the time the other bike nods 2 (except if they r harley's) there big scary bikers anyway ......

On the gixer I go the nod to anything but H-arleys and R1's ( Joke).

On Vinny the Vespa I only go the nod to other scooters cos I always think that the guy on the Blade that I nodded at will get on the forum tonight and post a thread in the funny section that says "Hey Guys.... get this.... a guy on a fucking SCOOTER gave me the NOD today ! bhahahahah".
