  • Caterham... now into bikes!

Caterham Group has launched its first ever motorcycle division – Caterham Bikes – at the International Motorcycle Exhibition (EICMA) in Milan. Three prototype products – the Brutus 750 (dubbed the ‘SUV of motorcycles’), Classic E-Bike (an all-electric, bike with retro styling) and the Carbon E-Bike (a premium electric bike inspired by F1 technology) – have been unveiled for launch throughout 2014 as part of the Group’s strategy of growth through intelligent partnerships.

Well, you sure can't accuse them of following the pack.
It didn't look that far on the map...

What I love about the top one is that you can ride up and down stairs (comfortably).

They've also created a Moto2 team as well, and have the 2013 AMA Superbike Champion Josh Herrin riding for them for 2014...

How did they manage to design a bike that stands up without any side, center or rear stand?

Not sure if I like them or not... I kinda do, but I am not too sure just yet.

It also certainly appears that they have kept with their design ethos of stiff chassis in a light package. Props for creating a point of difference though, but I am sure it'll polarise a lot of potential consumers. Be interesting to see how the market takes to them!

Top one has a stand - you can see it folded up and the antigravity mechanism is obviously doing its job in the photo.

The middle one is cool beyond belief but needs somewhere to put the Vicars daughter, any hints on Oz price and release?

Loving the board tracker styling of the second one (e-bike).
