  • Quite thankful.

So I thought I would post, and to say thank you to whoever was watching over me during my first encounter with the front fender of a car. Also if anyone happens to know the man who helped me out during this time (can't find the piece of paper he wrote his details on) would be greatly appreciated.

I hope you're not too damaged yourself.

Yep, you ok? Did you have protective gear on?

Looks like a right turning cage SMIDSY.
It didn't look that far on the map...

Being able to post about it yourself is a good sign, hopefully nothing too serious or painful, better luck next time, ninjas are renowned for remaining unseen, they use the shadows for surprise attacks on unsuspecting SMIDSYs.
Do you remember the good old days before the internet?

when arguments were only entered into by the physically or intellectually able.

Yes I pulled through alright, 6 weeks down the track and ready to go back to work.
Insurance is proving difficult because the driving is trying to say I was at fault and tried to overtake. But comprehensive so I will get most of it back with some luck.

Was thinking about doing my R-Class lessons while I'm off and going up to a new bike (actually chasing a Daytona 675).
On that note, I'm sure there's a thread or two floating about it but can anyone give me a review on Motorbike alarm systems; something like this? Two way 2 way motorcycle alarm system motor bike security system Scooter Dirt Bikes Choppers - YouTube

To put it simply, I was travelling down Parry Avenue, a guy reversed out of his driveway onto the main road (He proclaims this I didnt see where the car came from because there was traffic coming the opposite direction). By the time I saw him I had no time to brake, so I attempted to swerve. He wasn't indicating but apparently was going to turn right down Nicholls Rd (I think he lives on the corner of these 2 roads). Then his fender appeared in my swerve path and I went for a 25m flight.
Kinda wish I had it on camera.

                    Glad you're alright.

I have the same alarm, it's great. The range of the 2-way is pretty good, for an RF band. I don't know that it's quite as simple to install on bikes that use an immobilizer key though... search for the thread on SPY industries alarm installation.

So a car reversed out onto the street in front of you and you didn't see it? Swerved around him and he turned across your path causing you to hit his front fender, I can see why insurance is investigating, sounds like you just weren't watching where you were riding. Glad youre ok, Bike shopping is fun. And may this be a reminder for you to always be watching for forward hazards.

                        Glad you came out ok.

I had that alarm on my r6. Worked pretty good... around 250 meters range. When I ride to work my bike was parked around 150 meters away and it still got signal even through a few walls.

Perfect for when you are visiting friends houses or sitting at the cafe, you will know if someone is playing around with your bike.
