  • Comparisson - Scooters and Motorcycles

Just something that really caught my eye while I was back home.

I've noticed more and more scooters on our streets, seems to be the new "trend" so to speak but really, other than speed and power, they're not much different to what we ride. So why the hell is it that all scooter riders I see only wear an open face helmet, no gloves, no decent boots, no jacket etc??? :? I mean it doesn't matter if you're on a bike or a scooter, either way, if you come off, you'll still get gravel rash, loose fingers / toes, slide your face down the road and if you do get hit by a cager well you're still screwed.

So do scooter riders think that just cause they can't go as fast that it won't do as much damage as we might if we come off our bikes??

    Just my 2c

Totally agree with u! Its all too often you see middle-aged women going down the road on a new scooter with no gloves, no armoured or leather jackets and shitty helmets that would not hold up well from a 1m drop, let alone a grinding halt from 60km/hr :?

My older bro just bought the new aprilia sr50 and asked whY????

He went all out and bought good jacket and good helemt and im like wot the fuck for?? I said you're gonna get soooo hot travelling at 60km/h all the time hey.

Atleast ppl on bikes have that luxury of getting a breeze when we ride.

This scooter trend been going on for yonks though i reckon - much like the increasing bike trend too. I dont think ppl realise how easy it was to actually get a bike!

Ive taken the aprilia SR50 out for a spin restricted & derestricted. The derestriction makes a hell of a diff. Awesome fun i must admit. BUt for that money you mite as well get a bike i told him!

50 cc Machines will do 60 k's roughly and thats about the size of it ....

Although DjNitrous has one that does 80... 100 down hill with the wind

They r good to ride on if you only got your car license, but other then that go get ya bike license.... more fun on a real machine.....

              Trolling?

I heard Deej was selling his K3 to me and keeping Vinny the Vesper as his stunt machine.
              Will you insure me?!

lalallalallallalalal cant here you lalalalalalal !!

What you say is tru tho Campo, I wear a composite Shoei on my Bike but a plastic Nolan on my Vespa. Dont wear gloves, never wear leathers, boots, Cordura..... dont ask why, cos I couldn tell ya.

Vinny will do 100 without help, 130 drafting a car on the freeway and 135 down Karinyup Road in the hands of RC (Ricky), the current record holder.

So on the eight day, after wasting time faffing about with unimportant guff like heaven & earth & the waters & sky & creatures [& having a wee kip] & man.... God created PSB (GenesiSX-R1000)
