  • What should I do? I got screwed

Just got a flat tire. :x

The alley that leads to my garage has had workmen in it the last few months redoing someones house. They are always parked in it blocking it and doing various bits of work in the alley coz they havent got anywhere else to go.

Wouldnt really bother me except that I just rolled over where they were working today and collected a nice screw in my 1500k old Pirelli Diablo (nice tire btw).

It was night and I didnt see it but felt it immediatly.
Ive been worried about this happening since they have been working there.
Air is pissing out of it right now.

There is no doubt at all that the screw is from those workmen.

What can I do about this? Ive already gone knockin on the house but apparently no one lives there yet.

Ill tell the workmen tomorrow but I dont expect they will be keen to buy me a new tire. And its not going to be easy for me to prove anything if they choose to be like I expect and deny any responsibility.

So do I ask for compensation?

Or do I fuck the house and their work up in the middle of the night?

Of course once I ask them it will make it hard for me to exact revenge without it being fairly obvious

What a dilema. Do I have faith in mankind or do I give in to my darkside?

grrr I cant afford a new tire right now and the fucked part of this is that the only reason I was out on the bike was so I could get a job at the Big Day Out.

Got the job but it wont even pay for the freakin tire.

Out of my last 4 rears I have only ever worn one out.
If only I could get a screw me that easy.

Who should I call to get my bike to a tire supplier. Mount Lawley.

    grrrr

    (i mock you)

so not happy, got mocked myself :?

A high performance machine on a repaired tyre?

Not a great idea. Much better off shelling the money out again and being sure that your tyre isnt going to fail you when you need it most.

In order to get these guys to pay for it, you would have to PROVE that the screw is from their work. I dare say you would be left holding your dick my friend.

        Sorry to hear it mate!
        If you can... you MUST!

Spewin ImoxU, thats gotta suck. If you can find a screw on the lot that they are working that matches your tire killer then ride up to them and show them what happened.

If you don't even ask them, then you won't get anything at all.

Don't approach them with an attitude but be determind that you are going to win, you may even go halves with them? A little comphensation is better than none.

            just repay the favour ..

place a whole pile of screws point up under their van tyres ...

4 flats is a pain in the arse and im sure they'd be more careful after that

Some say he only showers on even days of the week

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

I have had 3 tyres plugged, one was a Pirelli Dragon Evo.. Same thing screw at work. I wore that tyre to the bones before I changed and even did a track day on it in 2002 without any probs.

Honestly take the wheel to Tyres for bikes and get it plugged. Don't be silly and get a new tyre straight away. If the plug does go its not going to pop on you, rather deflate .. and prob do it over a longish period of time say overnight. I'd rather spend $60 on a plug then 280ish on a new tyre.

Really I have never ever heard of any accidents caused by Mushroom plugs and tryes, its more of a myth, but after its done i'd get a skeptic to spot the plug... Remember its plugged from the inside so the actual TYrE pressure is helping it stay in place.
                  Will you insure me?!

My mate Nick just got his rear tyre plugged 3 weeks ago and has'nt had any problems with it so far. But his tyre has been downgraded a rating (so he cant go 250km/hr any more...only 210km/hr max speed)
