  • The Awesome Foursome!!

Found these stat's yesterday out of T.W.O magazine.

    2003/04 Gixxer 1000
    Weight 170kg
    HP 152 @ crank

    CBR1000RR 2004
    Weight 178kg
    HP 163 @ crank

    YZF-R1 2004
    Weight 172kg
HP 172 @ crank (182hp Ram air assisted)

    ZX10R 2004
    Weight 165kg
HP 170 @ crank (184hp Ram air assisted)

All I can say is god help the insurance companies  , based on the Gixxer 1000 K3 model, the rest of these new bikes are going to be a hand full to ride hard

I've got a copy of Bike (which I'd personally trust more than T.W.O.) quoting the lead engine designer for the 03/04 GSX-R 1000 as producing 164bhp. So yeah...

What the Fuck do you mean by "So Yeah" :? It's a written report out of a magazine, and a non bias report.
Have you got sun stroke or something?

Also, the gixer thou also weighs 168kg, not 170.

            Direct from the 04 booklet.

Calvin, I think you need to pour yourself a nice tall glass of calm-down juice! 8) I meant "So yeah" as in "So yeah, there's something to think about, everyone says something different".

Suzuki Australia claim 164ps (161.75bhp) on their spec sheet, whilst UK's MCN quote 164bhp. Australian Motorcycle News also quote 164bhp.

All three quote the bike as weighing in at 168kg. Interestingly, the Suzuki's engine has a quite longer stroke compared to the other bikes...

Calvin. The chip on your shoulder is getting a little big.

I didn't read the "so yeah" comment as a "fuck you". I read it as a throw away.

"So yeah...i guess they're all up there"

                I'm sure that's what 9 meant.

Who gives a S..T anyway about HP figures,Im after the look as i posted earlier on.We might get the highest HP bike, but one of the A or B graders will still piss all over us at the track and he will be on a RR or R6.The only time I could say one of these bikes has got awsome power is in a straight line or at the drags.Sure they are going to be powerful but your never gonna ride it to its potential.well not around perth anyway.Im going for looks first, then handling as they are all going to be on par with each other,as stated in the mags, then Im going for power.I,ve chosen the R1 just on looks alone, and for me its a bonus if its got more Hp than my 02 model.maybe I need some of that calm down juice as well.

                        Horsepower!

I would have to agree with you Gohan.

Its not what you have, its what you do with it.

My Moto Guzzi Sport 1100i has only 92hp.

For those who attended the MCRC Ridedays and the PE Day I only recall being past in a straight line! Then to pass them again under brakes or out of the corner!

                        So yeah!!!!
