    I know this sounds stupid, but what if you insure you bike with two companyes, eg swann and wqbe.

    it gets nikked, written off etc.

    you've paid two premiums, two excesses;

    do ya get to claim for the bike from each company, and get two bikes? :?

    nah, cause they effectively buy the wreck, or the rights to the nicked bike if it gets recovered, and then they sell it for what they can get for it to recover their money.that would mean that the bike would then be owned by two insurance companies. they may get a little pissed......

      There's something in the insurance act that actually forbids this.. so, no, you can't. Would be a nice idea though 8)

        no it wouldnt..then you'd be paying $4400 a year instead of $2200
