I doubt if there is much of a difference, besides it being a "newer bike".
It depends who you talk to (or was it just the fact that I was a girl looking at sports bikes.. ).
IMO the imports have better colour schemes.

Check the below forum, im sure they get asked this stuff all the time.

$6800 is high-ish. Private or dealer? And I wouldn't believe the "never dropped" bit, not on a 250 anyway. Make sure you check it thoroughly..

        its Private sale...

He put emphasis on its newer bike as not jap import bike.

I wont be suprised if its someone from here...

Correct me if im wrong but cbr250-rr's or single r's for that matter were NEVER officially imported by honda MPE. all of those cbr's are imported. sure is "australian delivered", but from the guy who had it imported.

but like i said i may be wrong, but that was my impression.

The official Honda delivered ones are supported by service centres. Trying to get parts for a non-Aust delivered one can be difficult to get through the official channels. Also, supposedly insurers like you more if you have an Australian delivered one.
            teh sig!

For a while they were officially imported by Honda and sold as a regular Australian Honda model, just like any Fireblade or whatever else you purchase. However, there are two things worth noting. Firstly, that finished up a couple of years ago now, so you can't get a new (or even 2002/2003) CBR250RR that's an Australian-delivered bike. And, secondly, there are (I think) a couple of years where there was overlap, in so far as you could buy - for example - a 1995 bike that was either an import OR an official bike, depending on what you found.

Imports have 45hp whereas the australian ones have 40hp

Theres no difference between the two mechanically (parts etc r the same and no probs) Ive never heard of anyone with an import struggling with parts because there are more imported cbr250's ere in australia then there are australian made.

Imports are always cheaper and better paint jobs. Dont go wasting ya money on an australia one dude - they aint worth it.

INsurance wise i doubt theres ne difference - i got a quote from swan which was fuck all. Less than $500 full comprehensvie.

$6800 is so not worth it coz i mean u can go import an aprilia rs250 from the eastern states for that price now.

Dont go paying more than $5500 hey. I got mine for $4300 and its never failed me. Ive noticed in the paper in the last few weeks everyone strugglin to sell theyre cbr coz they keep putting it at stupid prices like $6800.
