I have always used Rob Chekouski (or spelt similar) "Chek" for short.

He has worked for Alberts Hi Fi for the last 17 years and is a helpfull guy.

Not sure wich store he works ATM as he moves around. Call one, they should be able to tell you.

So on the eight day, after wasting time faffing about with unimportant guff like heaven & earth & the waters & sky & creatures [& having a wee kip] & man.... God created PSB (GenesiSX-R1000)

Alberts in Morley... talk to Grant you won't get better service and his prices are great. I don't bother going anywhere else now.

A&T (audioart & technologies)... their work is some of the best in australia.. do alot of high end systems.. speak to yandi.
On the other hand. u mentioned just getting a speaker/HU setup for ur father in law, why not try strathfield or jb hifi, great prices for some reasonable gear

What????? you lot actually pay for car stereo installs?

what am i the only duel traded sparky/vehicle trimmer on here? *Note to self: not everyone is as cool as you*

i do all my own installs aswell as some high end shit for my mates.

however if you actually wanna pay for it then it matters little where you go.... it all depends on how much you wanna spend. Some of the top shops who do award winning stereos do shitty cheap jobs. Its piece of piss to do it yourself. Go get a HU and some speakers and cut holes and wire em up.... easy...

I'm the noob you all pwn!

I agree with you firestorm, installing a head unit and a couple of speakers is a piece of piss. I've been known to tinker with anything electronic... car kits, radar detectors, two ways, you name it.

If you want some pointers or a hand let me know Melkor.

installing it yourself is easy as, depending on what car it is of course, i installed all my setup myself, deck, speakers, amp, subs heh heh

Of course we'd all like to get a good deal, but my father already has a stereo installed in his car that was done by "the son of his mechanic". It's now developed some sort of a short which stops the car from turning over in some circumstances (alternator and battery fine). This fault only started after the dodgy "mate" installation, so it has to have something to do with poor wiring.

Further to that he's 70+, hard of hearing and drives a volvo (no hat and pipe though). I need to get him a decent deck and speakers so that he can crank his jazz right up to hear it, and not be able to hear the police/ambulance/fire/motorycles comming up behind him.

If you'd like to be part of this three ring circus...sure .

Yeah good quality speakers, and a powerful enough deck inc amp. He's not after a "ricer" installation, but it needs to be clear and loud enough for him to hear it, or i'll get more complaints.

He's dutch too...and I have all this too look forward too

Thank you all for your offers of assistace!

I donno how to go on this one. I know I can trust me to get it right, but I don't know if I can afford the time at the moment. Also I'm no auto-sparky, and i'm not going to be able to pick the fault unless it's blindingly obvious.

If only his computer was on the blink...but seeing as I DID do that myself, its fine
