  • Which 600 for my wife ???

Well It looks like I've got another family member joining the bike world...

My wife is looking at buy a 600 the types or styles are along these guide lines....

    600cc
    1997/98 ish ( price wise)
    Sports/tourer
definetly not R6 or ZX6 styles

she's been looking at 97/98 YZF ( model before R6) or maybe same age CBR600 or what ever else anyone can suggest....

Anyone got any serious comments regarding experiencies of either of these two bikes or have any suggestions of a bike that fits a similar spec please fill me in ...

    Thanks

Go shopping, get your wife to sit on some bikes for height and go from there!
As you are buying for a lady, looks will be the key.

I know a few ladies that ride bikes and they love the Ducati Monster 600, a good ride height, and very easy to ride and no they are not very expensive 8) well priced indeed!!

Height is important, weight also. Higher bikes are a little intimidating - esp when you are standing tippy toe with the knowledge that if it starts to tip there isnt that much you can do about it. Oh and the weight when trying to move it around. Thought, Im sure your going to be there to move her bike around for her - aren't you Gordo

                  .......

Im sure she'll tell you exactly which one you have to buy her! Till then enjoy surfing the bike shops together!

I have learnt over the years that you don't take the wife out with ya when looking at bikes!!
I don't like white on the bike!!
If you buy that I will run it over in the driveway!!
Your not having one of those Volks wagons in my driveway (Ducati)!!
Fucking yellow, your not having yellow, you can move out!!

                    so on so on :?

                    Good luck hunting 8)

Gordon, I thought your wife was going for her 250 license, if so do you think it would better getting a nice 250 to get some experiance before stepping staight onto 600.

The 98/99 CBR600F is a good model, plenty of poke but still a tourer style bike with the single seat, and not so aggressive riding position. I know Kawasaki Northside have one, or atleast they did a couple of weeks ago.

my mates ex-girlfriend went for looks over everything for her bike, and ended up with a lovely zx-7r, which is great unless you happen to be about five foot tall and 25 kilos. she couldn't touch both lots of toes to the ground at the same time, so she would rock from side to side

she sold it after the fourth time getting blown over by the breeze at a set of traffic lights.................

Don't limit ya self to specific bikes...

Try as many as you can - some are more comfy than they look - and some less...

I tried every bike I could get on - and found the ZX9R most comfy and suited to my riding style... so I bought it...

Plus it's always good fun riding other ppl's bikes...
