From Ecosse Heretic Titanium Tagged As World’s Most Expensive Bike - Born Rich

Ecosse Heretic Titanium gets the distinction of being the most expensive bike to hit the roads, at a record price of $273,200. If you glance at its features, you will surely understand why! To begin with, the major fraction of the bike, the engine, is made from a solid block of billet aluminum, with attributes such as, a race-spec crankshaft, a supercharger, intercooler and fuel injection. The 2147 cc engine pumps out a massive 207bhp and an equally hefty 218ftlb of torque. There are other parts in the machine, battling to beat the engine, especially its hand built titanium chassis, designed by specially qualified titanium welders, molding the infamously expensive metal into frames. The list of its fantabulous parts seems never ending, the custom-made ISRs brakes, race-spec carbon fibred bodywork formed in an autoclave, and an expensive BRM chronograph watch matching each bike, to name a few. The materials used to manufacture this beauty are lightweight and thus assist in cutting down the weight of the product to 192kg!

Interesting, Doesn't seem worth it compared to the new Duke though.

            207hp + 192kg = $273,000 (+inc some fancy watch).

Aren't motoGP bikes worth around that?

Check out the front calipers... it should stop well. In addition, you might not think the HP figures are brilliant, but take another look at the torque output...

My thoughts exactly. Must have shedloads of torque and a 3000rpm redline. lol

Plus that exhaust routing looks like an afterthought.

This will be one for the "must have" crowd who are looking to have the most expensive of everything.

Definately not my kettle of fish.

Edit: to put the power and torque into perspective, here is a little bit about the 05 triumph rocket 3
When it was unveiled last year, Triumph's Rocket III made a big impact with its unique look, its inline three-cylinder engine layout, and most of all with its record-breaking capacity of 2294cc. No doubt about it, size is a big part of the Rocket's appeal. It's a vast, eye-catching machine that produces 140bhp, along with a massive maximum torque figure of 147lb.ft, delivered at just 2500rpm.
                      :o (and the rocket 3 has a 320kg dry weight apparently :o)

                      Still don't like it tho.

Looks like its got all the parts, just hasn't got the looks.

                          FAIL!

Its a twin though. How many twins get anywhere near that. I don't think the supercharged Rocket III gets that (someone that can be arse can look it up). Puts out fuck loads of torque though. The front would get pretty light.

                            Still rather the $185,000 MV.
