I'll post the picture. I'll let Erion Dave (foreground) and Tex (background) tell the story.....
(Photography by Disturbed....with thanks.)
So on the eight day, after wasting time faffing about with unimportant guff like heaven & earth & the waters & sky & creatures [& having a wee kip] & man.... God created PSB (GenesiSX-R1000)
Yes Hewie they are both ok, Dave came off ,"high sided" fortunatley with no apparent injuries other than bruising and stiffening up after a while,Tex avoided both Dave and his bike.
Dave's bike has some slight scars " Oggy knobs worked a treat " but was rideable with some help from wait for it "Pete from Causeway Honda" !!!
But as Deej said the boy's may tell the story as it happened !!
I just thought I would let people there were no real nasties comming up
Firstly that photo is awesome, nice work!! *sounds of screaming fans*
And basically I am fine every muscle in my body hurts but that is it.
Very lucky as it could have been alot worse. Now the story..........
I had been following tex for a 5-6 laps and thought I am going to have to try and pass him. So I get a wicked run out the basin, slip streaming all the way and out brake him into the final turn. But...there is always a but.....I lay it over ,knee down, then peg down, then back, arm, feet , arse head and all the rest of me down. All happened really fast. The thing is I think a lack of ground clearance on the pegs side of things help a great deal into the fact that I highsided, as when the pegs grounded they lifted the rear off enough to get it spinning. The pnly reason I think this is we were in 4th gear and would have only been pulling like 4-5000 rpm, not a great deal to get the rear to spin up on it's own.
Anyway the best day I have ever had on a motorcycle and I will be there for the next one!!

Were you guys using the yellow crosses on the track as turning points? Some of the strangest lines I have ever seen. By the way the Yamaha ride day today was great, got some real good pointers from Kev Curtain and Dan Stauffer. Managed to get Dan to ride my bike and check the setup. Well worth it. Glad you guys are ok.
I know I'm not very intelligent, but I still can't picture what happened in that photo.
Dave low-sided, picked the bike up to get it back on to the track, and then realised Tex was still coming down the straight heading into Novus? Or what?

I think he broke traction on the rear, bike comes round almost 180 degrees then decides to have a little lay down
From the pic it looks like Tex is pretty close, glad no one was hurt
Did he point out any problems in your set up Ben ?
When will you be racing next ? might come along and say gidday !!
He pretty much confirmed a few things that I had ideas on. We were mucking around with gearing and it just wasn't pulling out of the corners which he felt the same, and he felt the rear end was "wallowing" out of the basin which just requires a couple of clicks on rebound. Was very impressed with top end power The biggest advantage I got out of it was a couple of points with weight transfer on the pegs out of corners and also racing lines. Was very helpful. The next race meeting is on Sunday August 17th and I think it's 10-12 bucks to get in.

yeah Scum-Bag is pretty much got it spot on. Dave's bikes rear stepped out and went about 120 degrees before gripping again and then launching onto its left hand side, with Dave falling off the back right hand side of his bike (photo is taken right now, as you can see bike going over to the left and Dave falling right).
All the damage to the bike is on left hand side, all the damage to Dave was on his right hand side.
For your info, Dave was wearing full leathers, boots, gloves and his bike had Oggies.
The Damage to Dave was a small graze on his right calf and right forearm (like a carpet burn graze) that I personally believe he got from his action the night before with CAD’s mumma. The damage to the Erion was clutch cover, left peg, shifter, left bar end, rear left indicator, front fairing, rear cowl with a small scratch on the swingarm... and of course left Oggie Knob.
Oggies protected all damage to all side fairing, tank and frame.
Tex missed Dave's bike as it slid down the track by about 5cm.
