Does anyone have any suggestions, preferences, or warnings for sh*te bikes, ones to steer clear?

your about two months too late for my old '98 gpx. I had no prob's except for the clutch cable snapping along manning Road just as pulled out of uni.

I spent $4000 on a Kwaka ZZr250. Good fun and all, only had it 8 days cause a lady went through a red light and folded me but it was a good bike to learn on.

In all honesty, I'd seriously look at either
1. get a CBR250
or
2. Find peeps who ride bigger bikes, get your open learners license and get a 600 right after you pass your 250 license. ya can do that now I think!

yep you can get your open learners as soon as you pass your R-E. You just have to wait a year untill you can do the final test.

if you want power, stay legal and fall off => RGV250
if you have lots of money, want power, stay legal and fall off => RS250
if you have lots of money, balls, life insurance and a good lawyer => any big sportsbike of your choice eg R6, R1, Gixxer
if you want a good deal => my zx2

Basically jamie its like i been telling ya for what a month now?

If ya want a 250 to beat all other 250's get a Suzi RGV
If ya want a not quite so fast but a shit load more reliable and about 100kms more to a tank of go juice then get a CBR-250-RR
If ya wanna be beaten down the freeway by a CBR-250-RR with a pillon on then buy a ZX2R

For my money i went the 250-RR cause they is generally known as the fastest most reliable 250.... however they a bit more expensive than a ZX2,GPX,ZZR,RGV, Yammaha Zeal
