I had a really good experience in Thailand at a local bike repair place, my $3.60 per day scooter got a flat and for $7.20 I had a new tube fitted and I was on my way. He also fixed the brakes (didn't stop too good before) and tightened the chain.

If you want to take yours there I'm sure they would have it striped down to nothing in 40 minutes and put back together working again in as much time.

Bugger. I'm not mobile today so I can't nip down and have a look for you but you're not far from Vic Park.

If the scooter is buzzing, try kick starting it.
