  • What constitutes a wheelie?

After the 'how many wheelies have you done' thread, I wanna know what you class as a wheelie. For me, I'd say a wheelie is any time your front wheel deliberately leaves the road by more than a few inches.

By your definition, I can wheelie with ease and skill(which i obviously cant).

I think the definition should focus more on how far you hold it for than how high you bring the wheel up.

Ummm, no. More than 18 inches at least and more than 50 metres long.

This used to be a wheelie.

Now it would be classified more of a bunny hop.

              not sure.

That's a wheelie. Not a good wheelie, but a wheelie.

Front wheel off ground. Whether its a GOOD wheelie or not is another question.

Anything less than balance point = needs work.

                          I suck at wheelies.
“Crashing is shit for you, shit for the bike, shit for the mechanics and shit for the set-up,” Checa told me a while back. “It’s a signal that you are heading in the wrong direction. You want to win but crashing is the opposite. It’s like being in France when you want to go to England and when you crash you go to Spain. That way you’ll never get to England!” -- Carlos Checa
