  • Plastic Welding Job on the SV

Little job - Plastic welding the tail of the SV

I been putting this off, coz I'm not sure of the technique, now it looks like I need
some help. I've gotta fix up a couple of cracks on the duc-tail of the SV, doesnt have to be a flash looking job, just want it hold it together more securely.

If anyone down Maddington way is able to give us a hand or guidance tonight would be appreciated. I have some sacrificial ABS and a small soldering iron.

The plan is to take it over the pits tomorrow. I doubt they'd pick on it, but I dont have time to take another day off work to go over twice.

Alternatively if you have any suggestions?

Some say he eats sidchrome for breakfast

Some say he only showers on even days of the week

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

All we know is he's Hewie.

Yeah .... 5 bikes to finish tonight .... but who's counting

Nah its all good .... I can show you how to do the prep work then I can whack some welds into it quickly for you. That way it gets done and you can get it over the pits.

shouldnt take more than 15 mins mate and Im happy to repay the favour mate.

A guy I work with is a plastic welder. I was about to advertise his service. He will charge by the hour and it is a lot cheaper than alternative options but he does an excellent job. Much stronger than fiberglass. If you want I can pass you his information.
