I was gonna advertise that I do similar stuff to that but specialising in custom airbrushing. In the middle of doing a TLR at the moment with all custom stickers. Will hopefully post some pics as soon as it is all finished.

How pricey is this sort of thing and how intricate can it be?

Straight computer cut vinyl is pretty cheap. For what campo got on his bike- not counting on mates rates, you would be looking at about $20 - $30. And is is a genuine 2 min job to fit them.
Airbrushed artwork varies in price depending on what you want. We have done several Harleys with flames, a Harley with scorpions, helmets, guitars, you name it. It all varies on how much detail is in it. The more detail, the longer it takes, the more it costs.

Hey this aint a "cheap" job mate, this is top quality stickers, Mario will do a race sticker kit for you that'll knock your sox off!! Just have a look at Calvins bike

Besides, why would you go get a race sticker kit airbrushed onto your bike?? Why give your bike or fairings up for days when it can be done while u wait?? And if you're not happy with it or you want to take some off and add others, then it's gonna be pretty hard if it's airbrused off.
Yes, Hardleys do it all the time, but that's Hardleys, we're talking sportbikes here!

Sure, can see your point. Th graphics kits that we wholesale for cars, trucks, boats etc are made using both. Kits are cut out on vinyl by a plotter and then airbrushed to give them the effect. Have a look at www.autographicdesign.net.au This is a site for our distributors to order off. Custom airbrushing is a big job and is better suited to somebody who wants something truely different.
For a race bike straight vinyl is ideal. It is cheap and easy and looks good. A full job like that would take about half a day to do. And if it gets dropped..... just knock up some more.
Some of our speedway customers want airbrushing over vinyl, some just like it straight up. Personal preferance and budget.
By the way, we only use quality cast vinyl. And offer a five year guarentee on all work.
