SATURDAY'S COUNTRY BLAST
Still grinning after that awesome ride yesterday. Thanks to the regulars Calvin,Aza,Spike & Daniel, Dave VTR and my good self. Tackled the Weir rd, O'Briens, Military rd Toodjay and Chittering Rd. Its great to go quick with people that can ride. Aza & Spike have improved big time over the last 3 country runs and now ride fast & SAFE. The bake house products at Toodjay sapped a few horsepower cos of the extra kilos but as 'Cake Boy' Spike will agree it was worth it. Daniel (Spikes pillion) confirmed the R1 was quote: "good for 260/270 and he wouldn't have wanted to go too much faster anyway". Daniel has ice running through his veins and I suggest anyone who races a sidecar outfit should grab this guy to swing chair! Riding pillon quick on an R1 is no picnic and a high concentration & technique level is required. Daniel you're the man!!! O'Briens road is one of the few country roads where you can scrape the pegs if you got style. Road surface is about as consistant as you'll get out there. Lots of 30 & 50 K loop corners for those that haven't been yet. Big advice is go with someone who KNOWS it first time. Also go easy on the straights as there are some nasty over the crest driveways to horse properties. We ended at Scabs and applaude those who made the top car park for the exclusive use for bikes at weekends . "Burn more rubber you Hoon boys"...maybe they'll hang at Freo a bit more and create some badly needed bike parking at Essex st??

Was a top day out, had not been on those roads for a couple of years, so it was good to do it all over again.
I don't know what I was thinking when I checked my tyre pressures, I put 36psi in the front, and on O'Brian road the front was sliding around  (Fucking Idiot). Anyway Davo had a tyre gauge and was able to reset at 32psi, had no further problems.
Towards the the end of the run, noticed the back end moving around with a light wallow.....for fuck sake now what!!!! Looked at the rear tyre at next stop and it looked like it had done 10 laps of the track. We continued on and by the next stop the bike was realy moving around like the rear tyre was going flate, with good reason it was going flate and to top it off my bike started overheating (any one got a match?). Sorted out the tyre, fueled up and bolted home, left the rest of the guys to go off to scarbs.
Got home, tyres flate & fucked and the bike was overheating, I put the bike away and left the bikes on (not running) so the thermo fan would work. I got distracted for a few hours and by the time I remembed the battery was flateI then pushed the piece of shit up the hill to jump start it, but it did not have enough charge to keep it running longer then 2 seconds.
Had a good morning with the guys, and a shit afternoon
Thanks Davo, good run.

 Hey Calvin - even though you had a few dramas the ole Honda got you home. With the battery now flat ...it at least had the decency to stop in a safe place. You have been whipping that Honda's arse alot lately ...it just probably needs some TLC. Mate if you can't break it ..not many can. Cheers for your good company... hope you have it sorted for the BIG Saturday >CheersHonda is No 1

Hey Campo > we haven't hooked up for a ride yet and I look forward to it whenyou return. I go EVERY Saturday rain or shine ...needless to say I have ridden alone a fair bit especially if there is more than 2 clouds in the sky let alone rain. Spike has done alot of country K's now and he will surprise many with his skills come track day. I am really pleased to ride with guys like him ..who put in the hard yards. Hope the pics taken of the day get posted soon.Honda is No 1
