Hi guys, its past midnight and Tex and I have just finished organizing the T-shits into the show bags along with some other goodies. Both Tex and I work for a living (long hours training turtles) and I know that Tex just had a pretty big day and as he is mah negro and fellow Scorpio I know that he can get a bit stroppy after a big day.
As I have just had food, I’ll be fine for the next 30 mins so I will have my little say.
This day has always been about you, not us. Sure…..it just a little disappointing that we didn’t get the amount of entries we expected from the Forum Users. Now for whatever reason that is, whether it be financial or cos CADs mumma sees me more often than you and that shits you ….no problem …really… its cool. I must say that if it wasn’t for the assistance from Madmax & Tim from Causeway Honda along with Gary & the Crew from Kawasaki Northside in hounding everyone that came into their shops and selling entries to the members of the general bike public, then we would not have the numbers to make this day a success. Personally I think that’s a great thing we have some unknowns coming as it will be good to recruit and meet more of the bike community.
It has very much been a last min thing with entry forms coming in right up to even this afternoon to make up the numbers needed. As of this afternoon we are finally…..after several weeks of concern….. at break-even for the track day which is a good thing.
So that you are informed and don’t scratch your head as to why we just broke even, the majority of the entry fee is paid to John Green's Goldfields Motorcycle School. They are the ones making the money out of the day and yes, they are making a substantial amount. There is nothing wrong with that, they are entitled to, this is what they do for a living. But what this also means is that we, the riders, all have to make sure we get our moneys worth by ensuring that we learn from the instructors, ask questions if needed and seek guidance if you would like help on a particular section of the track. John Greens people are experienced, helpful and PAID to make sure they provide this service. Please, make sure you take advantage of it.
This is your day rider and visitor. We want this day to be a great day for everyone. Our priority is naturally the riders as they are the ones that paid the dollars. In order for the riders to have a great day, some of the costs need to be subsidized by those people not riding by the charging of an entry fee. We want to make sure we have St Johns First aid in attendance which the current budget will not allow so therefore we have worked out we need about $2 a spectator to get them. This $2 along with the $2 per visitor that John Green charges means that the visitor entry fee is $4 (and to think I flunked maths). Sorry, but that’s the way it is. On behalf of the team I sincerely hope that it does not deter anyone from coming up as this day is about everyone getting together riders or non riders and catching up, spinning shit, and havn a good day.
I hope to see you there and I look forward to riding with you, hanging with you and leaving together with a smile the size of CADs mumms arse.
See you Saturday morning. 7.30am.
