  • MOTORCYCLISTS FIRST AID COURSE - Registration of Interest

I spoke with St Johns again today.

They promised that they would get back to me on Monday afternoon with the planned curriculum for a one day course suited specifically for motorcyclists.

The reason for the delay is St Johns in NSW actually run Motorcycle First Aid courses already and WA have asked for a copy of the course program. If they don’t have it by next week, they will be writing one specifically for us.

The areas being covered are: CPR, EAR, Spine & Neck Injuries, External and Internal Bleeding, Fractures & Helmet Removal.

I will keep you informed as SOON as I hear something.

The class size can either be 12, 24 or 36.

As its been some time since my origional post, please re-lodge your registration of interest to attend the one day course on a Saturday (TBA) in the coming weeks by replying to this threat beginning with the words “Count me in”, after those words you can whore as much as you like.

The costs are still being finalised with St Johns and is dependent on numbers however an estimate of the costs will be approximately $95.00 per person or less.

NOTE: We would like to get an accurate indication of numbers, please, please, please DO NOT say you would like to attend if you foresee that you will be financially unable or unwilling to attend at a later time.

So on the eight day, after wasting time faffing about with unimportant guff like heaven & earth & the waters & sky & creatures [& having a wee kip] & man.... God created PSB (GenesiSX-R1000)

I recently finished my 2 day Senior First Aid with St Johns.

Its definatey worth while, but the senior First Aid certificate isn't worth the paper it was written on. Put it this way dog could have passed.. (20 Multiple choice questions, with 3 to choose from!! and EAR/CPR was just looking to see if you know where to actually make compressions!) . So although its a good course if you go there to absorb it, the creditation is worth nothing unless you are an employer! Even then its for legal reasons &/Or insurance premiums!

But yeah by all means i'd recommend this. I know there isn't that much they can taylor to motorbikes, I asked as many questions regarding this when I was doing the course myself and really the treatment was the same.. But leave helmet on unless CPR/EAR needed, and don't put into recovery position unless unconcious. etc...

But still, you never know who's life you can save so open your wallets and go!
                              Will you insure me?!
