However, FJ and Uncle Ho (MyFX) are 2 examples of people that dont fit this genre but fit into the forum well as well respected members.

Yep i'm heading down with a few mates from work. We are thinking about riding but if the forecast for rain sticks might be caging it.

Looking forward to the superbike race, should be quick.

Kings to be crowned at Wanneroo this weekend
                      By, Trevor Hedge

This Sunday at Wanneroo Raceway the best in the West will battle for the coveted Kings of Wanneroo Titles at Barbagallo Raceway.

Ben Stronach has been crowned Superbike King of Wanneroo for the past two years and is in no mood to abdicate his throne after BHS Engineering rider Matt Battista took his State Championship from him this year.

For Battista the Kings title would be the crowning glory to cap off a brilliant 2007 season. The ex motocross supremo dominated the Superbike class the same way he so often conquered all before him on the WA motocross circuit.

Flying in to shake the locals up will be Australian Superbike top privateer Glenn Allerton. The lanky Sydneysider will be onboard the Allect Racing Fireblade he piloted to race victories in the national championship this year. Joining him will be reigning Australian Superstock Champion Ben Henry. Son of famous engine tuner Brook, Ben took the national title on a Witch Cycles sponsored Suzuki GSX-R600 but this weekend will make his debut on an Allect Racing Fireblade. Henry will bypass the normal step to Supersport from Superstock, and instead will step straight up to the top flight Superbike category to contest the Australian Championships with Russell Farrow’s Allect squad in 2008.

Another rider stepping up to bigger and better things in 2008 is WA Supersport Champion Cameron Stronach. This weekend is likely to be the last opportunity for Cameron to win on home soil as, come January, he is moving to Rome to take up a seat in World Superstock aboard a Kawasaki ZX-10R. Cameron will also compete in Supermotard competition in the off season and will learn Italian in his spare time with a six month course organised by the team.

The main stumbling block against Stronach’s chance of leaving WA on top of the Supersport category will be Cameron Keevers. The Sorrento based greenkeeper flew to Sydney last week for the annual Reece Bancell Scholarship Charity Auction Dinner. Keevers left the event with a well funded ride secured for the 2008 Australian Supersport Championship thanks to winning the Reece Bancell Scholarship award. Reece lost his life at Eastern Creek while competing in the Australian Supersport Championship and his family along with members of the motorcycle industry organised the award in memory of their talented and affable young son. Keevers will this weekend campaign his Aark Racing Yamaha R6 and will enter the event buoyed with enthusiasm after winning the award and will be sure to give Stronach a tough time around the undulating 2.4km Wanneroo circuit. He will no doubt also do the Bancell Scholarship proud in representing them on the national circuit in 2008.

Sidecar aficionados will be presented with what is an extremely rare sight these days, a 16 strong grid of three wheelers is expected to contest the Sidecar Kings Title. Favourite for top honours are reigning national champions Shane Soutar and Jeff Rowe. Local favourites Lindsay Fagan and Yancy Ross will have a tough task on their hands to uphold local honour against the interstate onslaught but will no doubt do home fans proud.

The first race kicks off at 10:30am Sunday, November 18. Tickets are on sale at the gate. $20 general admission, $10 for seniors, and children under 15 are free. Get down and see the local boys sign off on 2007 before looking towards a fruitful 2008. While WA again has missed out on a round of the Australian Superbike Championship in 2008, the Sandgroper presence on Australian and International racetracks in 2008 will conversely be stronger than ever. Go figure...

                        Nice Trev

Hmm, I didnt know about the full grid of sidecars - have really taken to those the past few months.

Also, juniors are making their racing debut for the MCRC - Promises to be pretty good!!!

If you read up all the write ups for this weekend there is only four bikes in superbike & two in supersport sounds a bit boring to me
