In the first instance, this bike when complete will never see wet weather riding. With the exception of washing, simply wrap in glad wrap with elastic bands.

Anodizing and manufacture of the fork caps was performed by SMR Components in the good old US of A.

Happy Holidays everyone. A side note from the build thread.

We have a new member just joined the family in the Mancave. Let me introduce to you "Sparky" -

A present from my adoring family - Thank you, thank you all

The partners in crime that orchestrated this coming together. They did all the work themselves on bare panels, well done guys. You make me proud

Managed to get the front end on Saturday. With extender fork caps in place, gave me an unsprung length of 780mm. Needed 770 mm, happy as a pig in shit. Clip-ons mounted, even threw on the old throttle tube see if that will work, and it does.

Good to see I don't have to fix that - rofl.

Also bolted on the Brembo calipers I had left over from the last project.

New lines will be needed with + 75mm added. Looking good if I say so myself

What weight distribution R u aimin' for ?

Have you made any rake/trail changes ?

                    I am just a tad curious...is all.

The idea was to keep the original fork lengths along with same rake and trail geometry. I believe what I have done meets this. Without the extenders caps forks length was 738 mm using the 2008 units. I needed to get it back to 770 mm for clearances and maintain the weight balance at the same time. Dropping the front end for sure would have encouraged the bike to turn faster, but I have achieved that by changing rim diameters to 17" - Hope this answers your query sufficiently. The factory bike had a 50/50 weight balance to begin with, wouldn't want to step too far away from perfection..

Here is the updated fuel lines with a regulator in place. Went out late this arvo to buy some 90' elbow joins in brass, and some grommets etc - but everything was closed for the day. Will pick up tomorrow instead.
