    Here's what I'm starting with...

    [IMG][/IMG]

'00 XR. Stock standard. 17k on the clock.

Plan is to do a streetable motard. Not up for racing just some fun.

        Quick list of mods.

Complete Aprillia SXV brake system + Axial to Radial Adaptor + 320mm rotor.

        TM42 Pumper carb.

        Wheels.

Anything other than that is luxury. People keep telling me I need to look at the suspension next. Stiffer springs...

What type of wheels are you using Crobbo? cush hub? I was thinking of getting something with a cush hub seeing its going to spend most of its time on the street. Theres a nice set on gumtree at the moment I'm eyeing off but not sure i want spokes or to go cast.

A mate of mine built one a while back. I'll see if I can find a pic. He got just under 70 seconds at Barbs if I recall. It has some ugly arse wheels on it though.

I've got a spoked set here I'm willing to sell. Took them off my old XR and put newer fancier ones on. Have an oversized rotor, and offset bracket, also a 320mm EBC front disc.
Rear has a small crack but didn't expand/lengthen in the few thousand K's of riding I did on them. Also have a 4.25" rim you could also acquire and swap out.

Don't stress too much on cush as they have a cush unit in the clutch.

Spokes are SUBSTANTIALLY better than cast, as cast will crack under duress (i.e. jumps/kerbs/retard riding).

As Shady said they have cush rubbers in the clutch hub.

$2300 is a bit exy, but you get a set of brakes as well, the Beringer master is probably worth 4-500 by itself, add in the rotor and you're not too bad off.

The tyres are shit though I'd wear them out and go for a set of S21s.

The Excel/Talon setup is probably the best there is.

Make sure they come with the correct spacers.

Mine is approaching 30,000ks with filters oil and the odd valve adjustment. Burns some oil but meh.

if you could get the set for around the $1800-2000 mark you'd be laughing.

Yeah not sure if they will fit these...

                  [IMG][/IMG]

06 crf450 forks courtesy of gumtree which is why i might have to do a custom setup with the wheels. Have to do a little research on spindle sizes etc...

If anybody has done the fork conversion I'd be happy to hear about it.

I couldn't find a full size photo of my mates XR. You can see the ugly-arse wheels and how much he stripped it back. He put a big carb and got the weight way down and was running some tiny rear sprocket on it. He left the rear brake standard and put a slightly bigger one on the front. He didn't brake much.
