  • My bike is fucked!

Ok it all started when i was nailing it around a corner and suddenly my bike just completly dies and I almost fall off!

I pull over and notice that the ignition is still on the ON position but I have no dash lights like sidestand, neutral etc etc.

I jump up and down on the bike etc then the lights on the dash come back on and I can start it.

Yesterday I left home and then came to a stop and a stop sign and bike just dies again! Hover this time nomatter what I do it will not start.

Yes I have 12v comming from the battery!

The alarm still works.. The indicator lights on the dash still work when i arm/disarm.

It wont start even if I roll start it.

The fuses in the fuse box are all ok

If i turn the key to on and press start nothing happens

    HRrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmm??????????

I'm thinking maybe the ignition barrel itself is stuffed?
Anyone got any ideas? (Apart from take it to a bike shop)

I'd have to make the suggestion, "Take it to a Darn Bikeshop!!!"

Is ya kill switch or start button dodgy???

          Got fuel???

If nothing happens, sounds 2 me like it's the electrics...

Check all the switches and connectors, and stuff like that

          Ya never know...

Oh yeah, try unplugging yor alarm - maybe faulty too...

          Good luck!

yep...check your connectors and use dielectric grease before you spend the money at the shop.

The old non connecting connector trick.

                I hate that.

My bike did exactly that when I came back from melbourne.. it didn't turn over when I pushed the start button, nothing happened.. I took the battery out and put it on charge.. but it was fully charged in 5 seconds.. ok so it wasn't the battery!

Worked out after taking the on/off switch apart the metal wasn't touching properly.. jammed a screwdriver in there and bent some metal, now she works a treat
                  mmmmm sacrilicious

Lets just say it would be handy if the oil light came on when your low on oil.

I check my oil ever 2 weeks (I only do ruffly 100km per week)
Was on the fundraser for breast cancer which went down to mandurah via south west hw when i was doing about 200kmph or so and bike started making a pinging noise. Pulled over and bike had no oil in the engine

I put oil in the engine and took the bike nice and easy all the way home then few streets away from my house the pinging noise started getting extremly loud followed by a rise in engine temp. Only then the oil light came on... even tho it was completly full with oil.

The funny thing was the bike was taken to causway honda to be fixed for the same problem only 3,000km ago. Cost like $1,700 including 4 new gears and crank shaft re-straitend etc no idea if a warrenty still applies ?
