is it true that the power commander only adds approx 4HP to the bike??

I have a CBR1000RR 05, still deciding what the best and most efficient mods and adjustments i can make to get a little more out of the beast.
        Can anyone help??

With a slip-on pipe it will only add about 4HP at the peak power point, however you will find larger increases within the mid-range, as well as smoother throttle response. I do recommend a custom tune specific for your bike on a dyno to get the most out of it, although some of the maps available on the web will still give you a noticeable improvement.

ahaaa! thank you. i've been looking for that answer.

and when you say custom... is this wat the mechanic running the dyno will come up with according to what his reading or do i provide a custom map?

you take the bike in, leave it with them for a few hours. and when u pick the bike up they have made a map (normally from scratch) for you

Russell tuned the power commander for my gixxer recently, would definitely recommend him.

I took mine there also, smoothed the revs out nicely. My advice regarding the Power Commander would be unless you are thinking of getting any of the add ons just get the PCIII, does the same job and probably cheaper.
