Doh this post is from Gordo using Gonzo's log in

does your electric fan come on when the temp rises ???

If not maybe when it was in the shop they may not have reconnected the fan switch which is mounted on the radiator...or possibly check the fuses ect...

If the fan is comming on ok then maybe you coolant level is low, maybe the system has an air lock in it or your thermostat has jammed closed ect....

you can check the operation of the fan by pulling the plugged connector off the radiator heat sencing switch and bridging the 2 connectors and with the ignition switched on the fan SHOULD run ....

    see how you go

lol i've got no idea what you just said then heheheh

i think i better take it back to the shops heheheh but is the temperature meant to go down as you rev the engine? (clutch pulled in)

      :?

        As Gordo said
        Sounds more like the cooling
system has an air lock in it -
if you can rev while still stationary
        and the temp goes down
        Should be under waranty
if u just got it out of the shop anyway
Not supose to ride it if its hitting the red
        See doc immediately

but honestly im not paticularly comfortable with an overheating bike n a tank full of fuel right infront of my *ahem*....

It shouldnt obviously be hitting red. BUt if you've been riding and then u have to sit in heavy traffic then it is obviously gonna heat up. It just shouldnt be hitting the red thats all. Prolly a thermostat problem.

THats why u lane split so ya bike dont heat up as much!
