Supermoto wheels

So I can't resist the urge to put supermoto wheels on my DRZ.

These seem like a good price but I'm thinking too good to be true? They're a hell of a lot cheaper than most other wheels I've seen online. Anyone know much about them?

It says you can use the OEM speedo drive so you don't have to change to an aftermarket speedo.

Any info on putting sumo wheels on a Drz would be much appreciated.

I've bought bits and pieces from these guys and would recommend them. If they had dr650 wheels I'd have bought some myself.

Warp 9 Racing: Suzuki Super Moto Wheels The DR650se wheels are at the bottom DR400 just above them. They aren't as cheap, but they are still a pretty good price when you take into account that they include discs and sprockets. They also have a fairly good rep for quality. (need an aftermarket speedo, but as a DR650 rider I don't see that as a down side)

SM PRO Supermoto Wheel Set at 1100 these would be an option if they can be made to suit your bike.

When I was looking for reviews for the torpedo7 set (months ago) I couldn't find any that didn't say they were rubbish.
Also be aware that they lack a cush drive in the hub, if you don't feel you need one then that's not a problem. (there is a "kush sprocket" available but they are expensive). If you were getting a set built you could get the back laced to an OEM hub.

Yeah I could only find bad reviews about the torpedo's too. Was hoping to be proved wrong about them and save myself some money.

Yo. I went with sm pro wheels and talon hubs, a 320mm front disc, std aftermarket rear and a 41 tooth rear sprocket (with a 15t front iirc). So far been great, done a few curbs and a bit of offroad with no problems, but were about halfway in price between the cheap wheels and some excel/talon ones. Also need a caliper relocator bracket for the bigger front disc, readily available but cant remember what brand mine is...

I've had 10000km of hassle free riding (including jumps) from my Warp9 wheels. Picked them up off ebay and they come with disks, sprocket and caliper relocation bracket.

Thanks guys. I like the idea of the SM pros because I emailed the guy and he says the stock "SM" gear drive will fit the hubs. Which means I can keep the standard speedo.

The warp9's have to have an aftermarket speedo right? Trail tech seems to be the way to go there.

I hate to have to ask dumb questions, just want to get it right before I fork out the dollhairs.

If I put the trail tech on, that would reset my bikes overall odometer reading yes? Or can you program in your existing odometer reading? I assume you can't because people would just change there km's before they sold a bike. (my current odometer reading is 17km's haha so it probably doesn't really matter)

If the trail tech is worth doing I will, I just would prefer not to have to fiddle with the electrics of my bike. The plan is to have two sets of wheels so when I wanna get dirty I can swap them and hit the dirt.

I was racing on a set last season, and half of this season with no issues, including the dirt. I have no complaints about mine, they have been replaced with Talon/Excels now and will be my spares for wets.

I only had a brief look and found about 3 bad reviews and no good ones. But I'm happy to be proven wrong about them by your experience :-)

It might have a spot for the speedo drive but unless you can program the stock speedo for a different wheel size it will over read.

I'm looking to get a trailtech for mine for exactly this reason. Speedo drive works but over read by about 20% because of the change from 21" to 17"s
