I know on the track its important to have bike stable - no see-saw rock, you may feel the bike is harsh (around the city), but how does it feel under heavy braking to hard on the gas?
I know my bike was ok riding to and from work and so on, but go on a country ride and the bike started to wallow in and out of corners, fine tuning needed

Let us know how ya go.

Thanks for that. man have i been looking for something like that in ages. my blade gives me the shits when i take this left hand turn in Belmont cause the front shakes so much that i can not control the throttle. I have to hold the clutch in while i go around the corner.
I know what i will be doing on Monday morning.

I don't like the sound of that :!: Whats the measurement from the top of the forks to the top of the tripple clamp? Has anyone dropped the forks through the tripple clamp to quicker the steering up?

Ive dropped mine about 8mm (SP1), turns quicker, loses abit of stability(when front end gets light) but not something thats made me nervous. Falls into corners nicely.

another way to go is to put a spacer (3-4mm) on top of the rear shock. i haven't done it on mine (yet) but i've ridden an sp-1 that has. this has a similar effect but doesn't reduce ground clearance.

Yes forgot that one, have done that as well, still handles good in a straight line at speed. Tail riser unit from Australian Motorcycle Components.

When I had my SP-1 people over east suggested I raise the rear end between 4 to 8mm and drop the front 4 to 5mm, Told me to invest in a steering damper.

One other item, change your rear tyre from a 190 to a 180, I did both and it was like riding a new bike 8)
It will never handle like the Ducati 996 etc, but it is a step in the right direction.

I am not sure what you mean by that mate. Tripple clamp?? umm all i know is that i had some zip ties on the forks and the forks never have reached full compression. Pete from Causeway said i should of put em there just to see how the forks were. I have adjusted some settings on the forks, but i am not sure what they are for. It's not that the forks are stuffed. i think i just set it incorrectly. it is only at this one specific corner that i have this problem and it most probably is because it is a very bumpy corner.
There is a guy i know that works at presitige honda. He is a mechanic and I think his name is David. I believve that he lives in Belmont. know him?

On another note. I went past Scarbs this evening but i was in the car. the bike was at home cause my other half was to cold and tired and didn't want to go on the bike. Do you guys get together at scarbs everynight or do you phone each other up? i would like to come down one night and chat and get to know all but i am never sure if there will ever be anyone there. :?:

Yes I know Dave at Prestige, he works on my bike. The Triple clamp is the top plate that holds your forks and ingition etc, usaly there is around a 10mm height differance between the top of the fork and the triple clamp (Check your manual for correct measurement).
The other thing is set up, following the instruction to set bike up to your weight, it does sound a little hard, once the bike is set up to your weight all you adjust from there is compression and rebound (they are adjustable by screw driver) top is rebound and bottom is compression.

As for going to scarbs on only go on a Friday night, or a Saturday afternoon after a country ride, I have a wife and daughter and I spend time with them.
Any other questions don't hesitate to PM me.

SP-1 has a firmer suspension set up, where to CBR is softer. CBR handles better.

Question. With regarding to getting a centre stand. well some of us ain't that luxurious that we can afford to buy all. i do have a rear wheel stand but that ain't gonna cut it. Is there some sort of special stand for the cbr954? won't a block of wood and some bricks cut it? i don't think it will cause it looks like it will damage the fairing underneath.
