WD40 has served me well across two bikes and I will continue using it

Yep, quick spray with WD40, wipe off the excess, good to go.

I use Motul road every 500km or so. Spray it on while the chain is still hot after a ride.

Everyone has their own preference, this has always worked well for me.

                      Do a test...

Work out your current fuel economy...

Throughly clean chain and use WD40...

Give it a couple of weeks use and a few re lubed to clean all the old chain lube out of the rollers...

Then check your fuel economy again...

                      Report back...

It can't hurt and if you don't like it you can go back to your old chain lube...

                          Motul road goes everywhere

I have used everything on the market and keep going back to Maxima chain wax

It's like WD40 just more tackyer so less flick.

I would do on average 3-4 chains a week, (God bless Harley's with there belts)

You can buy it at any good motorcycle shop.

I run non O ring chains for max performance, lightest weight, least drag , lubrication for the sprockets and cleanliness, so requires thought for lubrication, especially with alloy sprockets, its free horsepower.

Clean & protect corrosion with lannox MX4 Lanolin Lubricant
                              http://www.inoxmx.com/inox/mx4-lubricant/
Light lube with clear Maxima Chain wax after the first ride/session
                              http://www.maximausa.com/product/chain-wax-parafilm/

                              This system ticks every box.

MX4 is eleventy billion times better than crappy old WD40 in every way.
Maxima Chain Wax is the only decent clear clean chain lube ive found in 40 yrs.
After a while have noticed it takes less of each product to keep the chain 'Wet' which is what you want.
