  • Imports: Who/how?

With the exchange rate the way it is, now is the best time to import stuff, but i really don't know who to talk to and what other stuff you need to go through to get it here. (taxes and stuff)
Like really want to get some micron cans for the new R1, but the australian distributor for micron gets everything from the UK plant and not the American one, but the Americans are the only ones who do the finnish that i want.
Also has anyone got anything through awesome imports, or am i just better goin to madmax or my dealer for this kind of stuff.
I hate it how we can't get any good stuff in Australia :!: :x

    imports

I know an importer that bring mostly cars in but he also is pretty good at other bits and pieces. Will work out a lot cheaper than postage or any dealer price. Dollar is allowing me to hit US ebay pretty hard at the moment. (check riding gear prices out)

i have got my thumb shifter through gary at awesome imports and a carbon front fender. the shifter took a while to arrive but that was because he was getting fuct over by the uk people (alledgedly). there were no dramas with the fender. gary is a nice bloke too.

i generally go through a dealer but nobody here knew anything about the shifter at the time. also, buying straight off the internet is pretty good. my girlfriend got some stuff for her cbr with no worries at all. i am actually going to get a speedo recalibrator from the us in the next couple of weeks...

        http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Chaparral/....asp?URLCheck=1
        and some uk ones
        http://www.harris-performance.com/
        http://www.qbcarbon.com/
Have got an undertail on order from the states, shipping $19US, takes 5-10 days so not to bad. Ordered airbox from uk ages ago, shipping cost 20pds.
Theres plenty around thats for sure, just make sure that they accept overseas credit cards as have had one place in the states which did'nt and was going to cost extra for money transfer.

after seeing the knees of your jeans after the trackday you'll probably save that much in jean replacement costs by getting the leathers.

my girlfriend ordered the speedo recalibrators on friday so i'll let you know how i go...

Not as yet Jarrid, have got an undertail for me bike ordered from a place called http://www.second-look.com/Store/ , shipping for that was $25 US, some places seem to charge differently for the same item, but is still cheaper than here at the moment. Power Commanders are cheap as well from the states, http://www.speedhaus.com/ For a PC3r $319 US plus $19 US for shipping, not bad.

i like the look of the top-gun style for the TLR...... nice without looking too over the top, and the indicators are in the unit, rather than having to put flushmounts on later. also, i need the colour matching for the yellow. still very cheap compared to here

We will probably be stopped by the cops wondering where the indicators are Bulb tlr... hmmmm.
