Anyone know if aftermarket light sets for offroad bikes are road legal .look like two little halogen lamps in a hexagon.. do they work well ?? where should I be looking- wreckers - any retailers? wouldnt mind a shaped lamp like of the MVBrutale(....sigh) with out the price tag.. Ideas??

i would say so.. a lot of guys use the street fighter head lamp kits.

I know philth bought one not long ago (plain white plastic).. cost him about $100 complete with lamps and brackets etc. You can get a crbon fibre one for a bit more.

As for retailers .. READY FOR IT ??

    Try
Causeway Honda ... ask for Chookie or
Northside Kawasaki ... ask for Ralph

Tell them Perth Street Bikes sent ya.
Some say he eats sidchrome for breakfast

Some say he only showers on even days of the week

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

All we know is he's Hewie.

Firstly...NO there not legal...as they dont have a high and low beam (like we care tho) the headlight lamps arnt too bad... there a ball spread... so yer light is very concentrated in the middle... however i wouldnt recomend riding to bunbury at night with a set...not THAT good :o you can get a decent set like i have (carbon fibre UFO enduro front) for around the $110 mark (with fitting access), its a peice of piss to install... (if u dont wire the headlights up to yer neutral light anyhow ) also, there is no room for the original gauges either...running without them is also illegal... but u can get nice range of aftermarket gauges from most bike shops for a nice price...

Talk to Alan (Chookie) from Causeway Honda...he'll hook ya up

      piccy of similar model

some other models to choose from..

according to the US site.. the Acerbis Cyclops is the first approved headlight, both DOT and SAE approved... for use with dirties and streetfighters.... nice

Motorcycle Masters in Kewdale have streetfighter setups on the shelf I think.

I would have thought 100% would have catalogues but I've never seen them on the shelf anywhere else.

yeh, i had a standard front end on, the one with the halogen downlights in it. Got pulled over for covered plate (Loser!) and mr coppa decided my bike looked good in yellow so he started with a sticker!

not all bike cops are nice!
