  • ZX9R factory tyres...

Got a new ZX9R (01) last Sept, and have been fiddling with the suspension ever since as the front never felt right when cornering. I never had the confidence like my other bikes even though this is lighter, more powerful, and brand new.

Last Saturday got a Bridgestone 010 fitted to the front and went for 60k run to scrub it in - this has totally changed the feel - it actually feels like it sticks to the road... even in the wet. B-)

The factory Dunlop did 25,000 kms but I was never comfortable with the ride.

Now I have a battlax on the rear with the new front and she's feels great.

Just thought I'd let you know...B-)

I got 11,000 out of my rear Metz MEZ4, the front isn't far off replacment, the handling felt ok, but the front isn't very sticky as I have found out by locking the front wheel loads of times when doing stoppies. Even when the tyre is warm. Guy at the bike shop said the best for my bike would be Dunlop D208's. Will try these as my next tyres as a pair should only be about $400.

Its prob this very reason that you didnt like the tyre. ANy tyre that lasts 20,000 k's has gota be crap.

So on the eight day, after wasting time faffing about with unimportant guff like heaven & earth & the waters & sky & creatures [& having a wee kip] & man.... God created PSB (GenesiSX-R1000)

My dad had a Honda H100 whose tyres lasted around 6 years...

He couldn't figure out why he kept falling off on wet roads... "but there's HEAPS of tread..." Not that rock hard rubber doesn't grip or nothing...B-)

Lucky it was only a Honda...so no real loss...B-)
