  • Header Pipes for a 30 yr old twin

Can anyone steer me in direction to get a set of header pipes made for a 1975 850-T moto guzzi? Doesn't have to be custom made, possibly might be able to buy prefab, but I doubt it.

Chasing after a set made from stainless as the local shop only sells chrome steel; used to sell stainless but the flanges where cold pressed. However, guzzi's being the rattling shitbox that they are, easily crack and spit them out.

    Sweet bike,

If it is Moto-Guzzi in Perth THE man to talk to is Mario at Thunderbikes

    phone no 93791991

If Mario can't help you then no-one can

    Another Guzz on PSB--excellent

Mario is the local shop I'm referring too. He only sells chrome steel.... i hate chrome, especially Italian chrome.

If I'm going to pay over a grand for a full system, i want it to be stainless.

Fair call on the Italian chrome-definitely not the best in the world

Have a couple of associates with t3's, I will ask if they have-wouldn't hold your breath though

My only other suggestion is E-bay, quite a bit of Guzzi stuff comes up on there, but most is o/s so postage is an issue

Thanks mate. This has really got me stumped; I queried stain tune about it, but they're not interested in custom work. All the brands that i know of like ackroprovic, yoshi, muzzy, termi, don't exactly make pipes for my 250kg lounge chair.

So if anyone out there know someone that will fabricate a set for us, please let me know. Willing to pay bribes too (in small bills with non sequential numbers )

You could try Staintune (NSW) or Stein Dinse (Vic).

Ha ha, rattling shitbox...sounds like those header pipes are giving you some grief!

if you dont mind getting them from overseas, get a copy of "classic motorcycle mechanics" a uk mag for older bikes, it has ads for hand made stainless everything......and its a damm good read

I'm a dinosaur and as such, don't have a credit card. so oversea's prolly out of the question. But yeah, that uk mag is a good read.

I was hoping there may have been a place that would take on bike work as you call these places and they straight away want to send you to Mario or the bike shops.

Does Stein Dinse still exist? Got a phone number/email/web for them by any chance?

Local boys Howler might be able to help, they race & help out other racers. Call Paul Freear on 0422844624, nice bloke.

I seem to recall he's on PSB occassionally too.
