  • I like it. Good to see someone doing something different. I hate how so many bikes look the same. The Italians have always been out on the leading edge of design - doesn't always work of course but at least they are trying. And when they get it right (eg 916) the result can be stunning.

Otherwise we would all still be riding hardtails with sprung seats coz someone said that's what a bike should look like!

It looks like it has fish lips (or something weird looking) where the headlight is... and looks like it has a nose...

        • The lotus is a much cooler design in my opinion....modern/futuristic with a retro feel.

is that little chamber on the fork leg like the one on the new zx10's... is that air fork like on a MX bike or something different?

Pretty much, the forks look like Ohlin's FRG300

I was toying with putting these on my ZX10R LeMans build. But at $12,800 USD a set I had to re-evaluate my build.

                • Problem I see with it, is that it follows the exact same design brief as everything before it...

Make it as narrow as possible, to make packaging a head ache.
Then make sure the side panels are completely closed, so that you get a big canvas for cigarette sponsorship. (oh and nowhere for the hot air to go, so it'll overheat).
Oh but now we need to give it a massive radiator to keep it cool.... which STILL doesn't get the airflow it needs keep it cool.
Better fit an oil cooler as well then... oh wait... airflow.
Don't forget the single sided swing arm that needs a bespoke rear stand, tooling and arbitrary torque value to set up correctly.

It lacks creativity, skill, knowledge, and application of lessons learnt from the past. It tries, just like every other bike since the original 916 (which was spectacular by the way) to replicate the 916.

But an old whore with fresh lipstick... is still just an old whore.
