  • My new Toy........Ducati....

Well bought myself a new toy, did not want the every day bike.

Bought a Ducati 916......well thats what's on the compliance plate!
In 1999 the bike was upgraded to 996R spec by Ducati Australia and the following work completed -
    New 996R motor,
    Nichols light weight fly wheel,
    5 spoke wheels,
    Stainless full floating disc brakes,
    50mm Termignoni full system,
996 brake and clutch master cylinders & levers,
    Carbon front guard,
    Carbon V Oil cooler guard,
    Carbon swing arm protector,
Carbon Vee Two Large High Performance Air Box,
Carbon Large High Performance Air Ducts,
    Carbon rear hugger,
Vee Two easy pull clutch slave cylinder,
    Power Commander,
    Power Commander quick shifter,
139 HP at the rear wheel
    Complete 996R fairings,

It only has 30,000Km and it is unmarked......

Will post pic's soon once I take some.

Check to see if the exhaust headers are a 2 pipe into one or just a full single pipe all way out.

    996R came first Testastretta engine..

    Pics Cal!!

It can't be a 916 with a 996R motor, the testastretta won't fit the desmoquattro frame.
The only bike that a testastretta will fit into is a 748R due to it missing a frame spar to accommodate the large volume carbon airbox.

I will get some photos of the bike soon when I get back from Karratha, also take some photos of the motor, feedback would be great!

The bike was rebuilt by Ducati Australia to race in the Australian Championships and has had more than a few modifications, have noticed some welding on the frame etc, and frame repainted. Bike is in show room condition and is covered in carbon......looks cool.
Bike has been serviced and Dyno by Wayne Patterson - 139Hp at rear wheel, not bad for a 15 year old Ducati.....

                        Anyway photos next week

Sounds like it's had enough fruit thrown at it to make it something special

Congrats mate, I hope it treats you well.

Oh Jules, the header has twin pipes.....does that help?
