Put a dab of silicone on the threads. Not as secure as loctite, but still secures and can be undone without striping.[/b]
Man seriously. I use red Loctite 271 on every screw on my bike.
It comes off with minimal force. If you can't break loctite without stripping bolts, sell your tools and pay someone with hand skills to work on your bike for you.
Silicone is far worse in the long run for threads. Gets stuck in the bottom of screw holes. It's got to be the most messy way of doing things, and have you ever tried to paint over where silicone has been?
Yes after a few went missing on my bike I decided to check and tighten all. I make sure I do this as a regular thing now especially before and after a country or long ride.
yeah im with arwon on this call you should have noticed that 1 was missing before noticing 4 they have prob been nicked by someone that wants them more than you if ya bike is left lout the fron might be a good time to park it else where
if some one has the balls to steal shit while there they may have the balls to taake or damage the rest of it
TIP: if you get pulled over by a young copper let him play with your bike, its amazing what you can get away with
Given that someone took my rear axle sliders, i'd say they were stolen :|
Not to wish harm on the undeserving, but here's hoping the fucker(s) get run over by a truck....
“Crashing is shit for you, shit for the bike, shit for the mechanics and shit for the set-up,” Checa told me a while back. “It’s a signal that you are heading in the wrong direction. You want to win but crashing is the opposite. It’s like being in France when you want to go to England and when you crash you go to Spain. That way you’ll never get to England!” -- Carlos Checa
