changing a RGV vj22 clutch cable

How hard is it to replace a clutch cableon a RGV vj22 ( 96 model )?

I have very basic mechanical skills
Any tips before I take the plunge?

I am slowly trying to find my way around my bike

Not difficult. Lube the cable before fitting using a cable oiler and ensure that the clutch arm is aligned correctly so you get the right amount of throw.

It looks as if I just disconnect at the clutch lever, draw full cable through, disconnect at actual clutch arm

Then repeat the opposite way to connect new one?
What would the correct clutch arm position be please ?

sorry i cant put up a pic but just looked at mine and it is direct right angle to the clutch cover if that helps

My RGV is still not running ( long bad story ) so am only using brothers to travel to and from work
If a miracle happens and mine is repaired Id love to come along and smoke with the big boys

And yes that helps a lot , right angle I can work out
