  • 2 stroke head mods

Can anyone recommend a machine shop or whatever where I can get my RS250/RGV250 heads modded?

I want the plug hole welded up and re-tapped straight, combustion chambers reshaped and squish band machined. I also want an oring groove cut so I can do away with the head gasket.

Who does this stuff well in Perth, or elsewhere in Oz if necessary?

    Cheers

Better off just buying a new pair of heads. Look at The Tuning Works.

I actually have a pair of cnc heads but I want the factory look. I know it's not a cheap mod but I'm keen to talk to someone about it.

He isn't welding anymore, but very happy to do the machining.

I Actually had a bit to do with two strokes in my younger days water bucket, h2, r5 and rd 400 surprised to hear the heads can be altered to such an extent, we got power from porting and expansion pipes, i was taught the art by r rudlicki of h2 and ducati racing fame he worked in euro motorcycles in vic park in the 80's, they sure did produce a lot of power relative to their displacement.

Have a chat to Morné from RaceWorks. He’s the man for all tuning on two strokes and four strokes. He can look at your suspension too...
