ahh you're talking about that spring. Can't remember how that one works when the valves hit full open.

^^ it opens up... basically you have the tab (for lack of a better word) on the pulley pushing against one leg of the spring, which has the other leg work against the actuator.

Once the actuator gets to full travel, the wheel is pushing against spring pressure.

Same for going the other way when it closes....

Wheel turns spring, which in turn pushes against the actuator... once the actuator runs out of travel, you're working against spring pressure

      edit:
I just had mine apart recently, and had a play with it to figure out how it all worked
“Crashing is shit for you, shit for the bike, shit for the mechanics and shit for the set-up,” Checa told me a while back. “It’s a signal that you are heading in the wrong direction. You want to win but crashing is the opposite. It’s like being in France when you want to go to England and when you crash you go to Spain. That way you’ll never get to England!” -- Carlos Checa

        edit:
i've tested it and turned the pulley wheels myself by hand without the cables attached... you can turn well past full open/close... you're just working against a decent amount of spring pressure...

        Works for me
