  • NBN WTK - Your Most Expensive Part Is?

What is the most expensive part, That youve had to pay for, That you thought was day light robbery?

Oil leaking from my speedo sensor in the commodore...
Decided to put it up on ramps and replace it, pulled it all down, the O Ring has worn, thus causing the leak.
Called around, no where stocked the o rings,(veales, repco, supercheap)
Called Holden - $23 for an O RING! Where talking a peice of round rubber strip here, cmon!

State Wide Bearings - Saves the day once again, Yes we have those around that size, 50c each, hell i could use trial and error to find the right size now!

Some say he eats sidchrome for breakfast

Some say he only showers on even days of the week

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

All we know is he's Hewie.

After fucking my water pump i checked prices for parts only at local dealers, $350. I then check on boats.net, $70 plus $40 postage. (water pump housing, water pump housing gasket, water pump impeller, water pump impeller circlip, crank case cover gasket)

Buying replacement turbos for a soarer a few years back. The only decent front cut in Perth someone had bought, I needed them yesterday so paid his ransom for taking the turbos as he just wanted the block. He paid $1500 for the f/cut. I paid $700 for the turbos as needed my car to breathe and get me to work.

If you've ever rebuilt a mitsubishi engine you would know about rediculous prices.. E.g $50each for intake manifold gaskets, $200 for a pair of oil cooler hoses not more than 50 cm long etc etc. It seemed like they had a random number generator for pricing, nothing made sense, and none of it was cheap. I ended up buying a complete aftermarket top end rebuild kit from the states for $100
'Tis easier to ask forgiveness, than it is to get permission..

little rubber yamaha stickers that go on each side of the fuel tank of the FZ, pretty sure i was quoted $78 for the pair, it could even have been a bit more but i was so taken aback by the statement i went into shock and stumbled out of the shop
onto fleabay and got a pair for $10 to the door

Had to buy a new steering column for the raptor, cost $200 from the local dealer. They'd left the price tag on from when they bought it, $100...

A titanium screw in my right shoulder, litterally cost me an arm for nearly 2 years.

                          Bolt for a yamaha flywheel.
$28Aud. Bought from the states for three.
So I technically didn't buy it.

$1400 for a heavy duty clutch on the XR6 turbo, this was reduced from $1700 when I flew off the handle about the price. The gearbox was already opened as they were replacing 2nd gear.

I paid $600 for the clutch on my 10 tonne truck!
