Just wondering, out of interest, how others refer to or introduce their partner, if they are not married?
Our situation takes a bit of explaining...'yes, we are married...just not to each other...' so I usually go for the generic 'partner'

Anyone have anything better?

I think that's pretty standard. But what if you are married to someone else?
I don't refer to my partner as my husband, because I already have one...I just don't use it

Yep same situation, same name.

Started out as my boxing partner, now it's usually just partner, sometimes my girlfriend but that doesn't sound right when you are both late thirties with a couple of kids each!!
